Did you see it as a child? Or was the last time a few years ago? Maybe you plan to see it for the first time this season? Regardless, you will be enchanted by Charleston Ballet Theatre’s production of this classic holiday extravaganza. Invite your entire family to discover the spectacle and wonder of this timeless story seen through a child's eyes.  Charleston Ballet Theatre presents five performances of its magnificent production of Jill Eathorne Bahr’s THE NUTCRACKER    December 14-17 at North Charleston Performing Arts Center amid the sparkle of downtown holiday decorations. Tickets for the blockbuster extravaganza range from $25 to $47. For many in the Lowcountry, Charleston Ballet Theatre’s version of the popular ballet is an anchor of their holiday tradition.

The production features magnificent costumes, spectacular sets, a giant tree, and falling snow that blankets a winter wonderland. This time-honored tale tells the story of an enchanted Nutcracker doll that magically comes to life to battle the Rat King and his band of mice while protecting the beloved Marie Lowndes. A wonderful ballet for the entire family, The Nutcracker is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season and to introduce young children to the power and beauty of classical dance. For over one hundred years, the story of the ballet has proven irresistible to both children and adults alike.
