Steven Boston In his second season with CBT, Steven is from Philadelphia, PA and trained with The Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet. He attended the University of the Arts for two years and completed summer programs at Miami City Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and North Carolina Dance Theatre. Steven danced for one season with the North Carolina Dance Theatre II. In his first season with CBT he has performed as The Grinch in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas along with performances in Motown Mania, Decadent Divas, and Lark Ascending.
Stephanie Bussell, A Michigan native, Stephanie holds a B.S. degree in Arts Administration from Butler University. In addition to studies with Kirov and Bolshoi Academies and the Boston Ballet, professional credits include Lexington Ballet, Ballet Internationale, the Indianapolis Opera and Cabaret Kiki. CBT roles include the female lead in Zorro, Motown Mania & Twisted Tango, The Great Gatsby (Myrtle), Who Cares?, Seven Deadly Sins and Rite of Spring. This year marks her eighth season with CBT as a company dancer.
Alexander Collen, currently in his fourth season with CBT, is just loving where ballet has taken him: from small corridors in old buildings, to grand international stages and everywhere in between. In his first three seasons with CBT, Alex was featured as Lust in Seven Deadly Sins, Cpt. Hook in Peter Pan, and the male lead in Jill Eathorne Bahr’s Rite of Spring and Carmen, as well as dancing in Twisted Tango, The Magical Mystery Tour & Balanchine’s Rubies.
Andrea De Vries, currently in her ninth season with CBT, is a Charleston native who has been dancing for twenty years. Professional credits include Charlotte City Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, and Florida's Summer Dance Festival, David Taylor Dance Theatre and the Colorado Ballet. CBT credits include Twisted Tango, Baker’s Dozen, Lark Ascending, Sleeping Beauty, Rite of Spring and Poetry with A Splash of Red Blood.

Jennifer Balcerzak Muller, in her eighth season now with CBT, is a NYC native whose professional credits include The Joffrey Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet, New Jersey Ballet and the Fort Wayne Ballet and the dance film Center Stage. CBT credits include Peter Pan (Tinkerbell), The Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy & Maria), Decadent Divas, Zorro, Nine Lives, Twisted Tango, Poetry With A Splash of Red Blood, Rite of Spring, Serenade, Who Cares?, and Rubies.
James Peronto, in his fourth season with CBT, is a native of Madison, WI where he trained under JoJean Retrum at the Monona Academy of Dance and then the Houston Ballet Academy. Professional credits include Texas Ballet Theatre and the Bruce Wood Dance Co. CBT credits include The Cat in the Hat, The Nutcracker, Nine Lives, Motown Mania, Zorro, Twisted Tango, Rite of Spring, and Rubies.
Peter Swan Peter, in his second season with CBT, is from Atlanta, GA, where he began his training under Nicolas Pacana (Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet). Most recently, he was a principal dancer with Gainesville Ballet Company and Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre. Highly sought after as a guest artist, Peter has performed with numerous dance companies and university dance programs throughout the Southeast. He was also ballet master for Gainesville Ballet Company, on the faculty for Brenau University, and has taught at Jacksonville University and the University of Georgia. CBT credits include Serenade, Motown Mania, Decadent Divas, & Lark Ascending.
Melody Staples, currently in her sixth season with Charleston Ballet Theatre, her company highlights include Twyla Tharp’s Bakers Dozen, the soloist in George Balanchine’s Rubies, a principal in his Who Cares?, and as Cinderella for Jill Eathorne Bahr’s Cinderella. Originally from Asheville, NC, she graduated on scholarship and as the recipient of the Van Lewis Award from the Virginia School of the Arts. She has also danced with the Milwaukee Ballet Company, Columbia Classical Ballet, and Ballet Quad-Cities.
Jonathan Tabbert received his training from The Dayton Ballet and The Harid Conservatory. Additional training includes Houston Ballet, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, and American Ballet Theatre. Now in his eleventh season with CBT, he’s been featured as the principal dancer in Zorro, Tarantella, Who Cares?, Coppelia, Romeo and Juliet, and The Nutcracker, as well as a soloist in Nine Lives, Bugle Boy, Piazzola, The Great Gatsby and Sleeping Beauty. Jonathan’s ground-breaking choreography has become a staple in CBT’s repertoire, with his Cat in the Hat and Carnival of the Animals anchoring CBT's successful Children’s Series.
Melissa Weber is from Boca Raton, FL where she trained with The Boca Ballet Theatre under the direction of Dan Guin, Jane Tyree and Dreyfoos School of the Arts with Jeff Satinoff. Melissa has danced with the Dayton Ballet II. She has been a guest artist with Louisville Ballet and as a trainee with Nashville Ballet. This is Melissa's seventh season with The Charleston Ballet Theatre. Featured CBT roles include Lead Russian and Arabian in the Nutcracker, Female Gypsy Lead in Don Quixote, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Madonna in Decadent Divas and the Matriarch in Jill Eathorne Bahr's Rite Of Spring.
Jennifer Altman, is a native of Kansas and received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Marketing and Dance from Kansas State University and is currently pursuing her MBA from Charleston Southern University. She attended summer intensives at The Ailey School in New York City. Additional training includes Kansas City Ballet, Ballet Oklahoma, and Colorado Ballet. This is Jennifer’s fourth season with Charleston Ballet Theatre. CBT credits include The Nutcracker, Serenade, Rubies, Seven Deadly Sins and Zorro.
Bridget Halloran, in her fifth season with the company, began her serious dance training in her hometown of Jacksonville, FL with the Jacksonville Ballet Theatre. She spent her summers at the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, Atlanta Ballet, and the Kirov Academy, and her professional credits include Northern Plains Ballet and Twin Cities Metropolitan Ballet. At CBT, Bridget has appeared Zorro, Bolero, Decadent Divas, Magical Mystery Tour, and Serenade.
Emily Haas, from Cincinnati OH, received a BFA in ballet from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music. Upon graduating, she joined Ballet Idaho dancing as a company member. She has also performed as a guest artist with Kentucky Ballet Theater. CBT performance credits include Balanchine’s Serenade, Decadent Divas and The Nutcracker.
